Honest food
Cooked to order from good, simple ingredients. No fuss, no shortcuts, just a plate you'll want to finish.
A grand name over a wonderfully down-to-earth café. Here's who we are.
Tucked along Richmond Way in West Kensington, Zarathustra Café is the kind of place every neighbourhood hopes to have on its corner: unhurried, friendly and generous. Locals come for a hearty breakfast, stay for the coffee, and end up on first-name terms with the people behind the counter.
We're proudly independent and family-run. There's no corporate playbook here, just good food cooked fresh and served fairly, day after day.
Zarathustra, known to the Greeks as Zoroaster, was the ancient Persian prophet of fire and light, who taught that each day is a fresh chance to choose good words, good thoughts and good deeds.
It's a fitting spirit for a café: there's a quiet optimism in a warm room, a hot kitchen and the first coffee of the morning. The name is a nod to that idea of new beginnings, and a knowing wink to the philosophy students who wander over from the bookshops. Grand name, humble plate. We like it that way.

Great value, every single day. We think honest prices and a friendly café should always go hand in hand.
Regulars and first-timers, builders and students alike, everyone gets the same smile and the same good service.
Everything is cooked to order, the way a good neighbourhood café should be. Hearty breakfasts in the morning, freshly made plates through the day, and proper coffee whenever you need it. Our menu changes with what's fresh, so there's always a reason to come back.
We're on Richmond Way, open Mon–Sat 7am–5pm and Sundays 8am–3pm. Bring a friend, bring a book, bring an appetite.
